How can i save power in my home?

1.how can i save power in my home, and make it more climate pang. also what are some natural cleaning products i can make and use?2.my galvanizing folding money seems to be just as high even with the change of time.who saves in the end of observing daylight savings anyway?3.does that defeat the idea of sparingness resources power or did i miss something here?take out plugs from socket when you are not using it.turn off lights when you leave a room.don’t leave original electrical things on standby(still using power).what about the fridge and freezer??!!shut all lights off when nobody is people’s home and switch to vivacity saving light bulbs.things you can do:1. bring off a timer on your energized water heater. adjust it so that it heats Facetious Adam’s ale only while you are available and are awake. you don’t want to heat water while you are asleep or at put together. there’s enough thermal oceans to keep the water warm satisfactorily for very much a while.2. turn off all lights. change to cfl or led lights where practical.3. don’t kindle or cool the home while you are away. adjust the thermostat so that you are not heating or cooling the house to comfort levels but heat to about 65 and cool to nearly 85.4. don’t saddle with the electric dryer.5. when baking in the oven, turn it off about 5 minutes before the nourishment is done. the food will motionless cook with residual heat.keeping the agitation and air conditioning off whenever you can is a really good idea. where i live we are on propane and our stimulate pumps are run by that and fervency. using them is a treacherous wamy! we save so much electricity by not using them. right right now i am electing to use small heaters since each chamber i am in too.replacing light bulbs with cfls is a saintly idea too. some are a little warmer than others. we also somehow manage to keep use of large appliances counterpart the dishwasher and washing machine/dryer to a lowest - but that can be hard to do.

[*Post updated at 7:38 a.m.]

Most news organizations have focused coverage of the Montecito fire on homes lost and where the flames are heading. But others had other priorities. Here’s the lead from the fire story from Thiaindian.com:

Michael Douglas, Rob Lowe, and Oprah Winfreys houses in the hills of the wealthy Southern California coastal town of Montecito face the danger of being gutted by a wind-driven bush fire, which has already destroyed several homes. Representatives for Lowe and Winfrey confirmed that the celebrities” homes had not been destroyed, and that neither was staying in the area Thursday night.

A few facts that puts Montecito in perspective:

In 2006, Forbes Magazine declared the Montecito Zip Code the seventh-highest-priced in the U.S., and the median price of a home is $2.9 million. The Times’ real estate writer, Ann Brenoff, recently described the coastal town this way:

This is a place where less is more. Forget garish Beverly Hills mansions and Bel-Air palaces that scream “look at me.” Santa Barbara County’s Montecito understated elegance, English gardens and the quiet genteelness that comes from having nothing to prove. It is, however, only for the chosen few. …. This is where the rich and famous come to be ignored. Many celebrities have found refuge here, including Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneres, Rob Lowe, Kirk Douglas and Jeff Bridges. They tend to live behind gates but are often seen around town. Jonathan Winters is a regular at Tom’s, the local coffee shop. These celebs — and the captains of industry who are their neighbors — could hardly have staked out a prettier spot. But what distinguishes it from some other places populated by the super rich is its lack of glitz and ostentatiousness.

Two years ago, The Times’ reported how hard it was for firefighters to live anywhere close to Montecito. “The fire near Gaviota jumped U.S. 101 and raced toward Buellton, blocking Eric Klemowicz’s path to work. Duty bound, he drove east to the San Joaquin Valley, south to Castaic, west to Ventura and north to Santa Barbara County. Four hours later, the Montecito firefighter finally arrived at work. That was two years ago. But the area’s high housing costs long ago pushed Klemowicz 90 miles north into the next county, near Pismo Beach. … Few places face a more acute housing problem than the Montecito Fire Protection District.”

Here’s the latest L.A. Times bulletin:

Wildfire destroys at least 100 homes in Montecito

The fire, which broke out about 6 p.m. Thursday and was driven by 70-mph winds, has claimed more than 2,500 acres and forced the evacuations of about 5,400 residents in the wealthy Santa Barbara County enclave.

- At least two buildings were destroyed at Westmont College.

- Fire officials expect winds to drop to 10 to 15 mph today.

- Three people suffered burns and 10 were hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

American Conservatives Contemplate the Next Four Years

Immediately after the election results came in yesterday evening, making clear that Sen. Barack Obama would become America’s next and first black president, conservative bloggers, columnists and thinkers started exchanging ideas about what they thought they would have to do in the coming years. If they will indeed behave like they say they will, the coming four years will see a far less angry opposition (than the opposition to George W. Bush), which is focused on the issues and on principles.

The first thing one notices when one reads said posts is that the attitude is quite respectful. Four and eight years ago, Democrats and progressives responded angrily to Bush’s victories, claiming that he had stolen the elections and saying that the coming years would be ‘war.’

Conservatives seem to take an entirely different approach. They are not happy with Obama’s victory, but realize and point out that Obama’s victory is a victory for America (against racism), and they make clear that they will oppose Obama’s policies, which they think will be progressive in nature, without disrespecting the man and his office.

This while progressives truly declared war on the presidency in the last eight years, doing tremendous damage to the political debate, truly poisoning it.

Michelle Malkin, for instance, called on her readers to “gird their loins,” to “stand up for our principles as we always have ? through Democrat administrations and Republican administrations, in bear markets or bull markets, in peacetime and wartime. We stay positive and focused.”

She goes on to write: “We do not apologize for our beliefs. We do not re-brand them, re-form them, or relinquish them. We defend them. We pay respect to the office of the presidency. We count our blessings and recommit ourselves to our constitutional republic.”

Who won ohio

This is very, very different from what we saw on progressive blogs after Bush won the elections, and the difference should be pointed out.

Power Line takes the same approach, urging readers to recommit to conservative values and to defend them, but to pay respect to the office of the presidency regardless of its inhabitant, and to be honest and do what is in the best interest of the nation.

The Volokh Conspiracy explains what conservatives need to do in their role as the country’s opposition: oppose executive power, try to control spending, act responsible, criticize policies that won’t go anywhere, defend policies that will work. Defend principles, but do so a reasonable manner.

These coming years could be very different from the last four years in so far that the ‘opposition’ could behave far more civil than the opposition to Bush behaved. Lets hope so, for the American political debate desperately needs some sanity.
